Can I put a fresh air intake near from a kitchen range vent

I have a question regarding the code for fresh air intakes. I saw in the code that a fresh air intake must be at least 10 feet (or 12, can't remember) from a 'contaminated' air exhaust. I assume this means things like combustible exhaust vents but I am not sure if this applies to the vent hood from a kitchen range.

The spacing I am looking at would be about 7ft apart on the side of the house (~3-4ft above ground level)
