Cannot Install Gdebi

by Dauid Beck   Last Updated April 14, 2018 06:02 AM

So today i downloaded a new distro of linux (debian) from ubuntu... I was in the process of setting up my files when i tried to install gdebi with

apt-get install gdebi

My terminal returned the following

root@GamingPC:/home/dauidbeck# apt-get install gdebi Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done E: Unable to locate package gdebi

I've tried

sudo apt-get update

then running it again with the same results... I have tried installing it manually with

sudo dpkg -i

with dependencies and all this is extremely tedious. I've tried spelling Gdebi with a capital "G" to no avail... Please can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong?
